Bravo!!!
As you know I'm retirement age now and I still have friends who are obsessed with appearance. I have to admit that I was the same, once. Then I had an eye infection and was unable to use mascara and eye shadow for a while. I discovered that people still spoke to me and if I looked awful, they were polite enough not to say. Now I don't care at all. If they don't like me as I am, then so be it - but if they don't like me because of my appearance then I don't want them anywhere near me. In the past, different people have (unbidden) called me both beautiful and ugly. (Why did they think they had that right?!) So many people are insecure themselves that they have to do/say something to make them feel better. We must feel very sorry for them but put them and their comments firmly behind us as we forge ahead to success. (Oh, what a writer I could be . . .!) :) xx
